How we worked with our client to meet their needs…
Virgo, a dynamic and innovative PR company, has grown considerably over the last five years and had identified people development as a significant determining factor with regards to business success. Their rapid expansion had led to several employees being promoted into roles that required greater leadership capabilities.

Virgo asked Zoom to create a programme that would accelerate the professional and personal development of both current and potential leaders.
Together with Virgo we designed and implemented a leadership development programme encompassing the whole of the management team which was in keeping with the company’s beliefs and values with the aim always being on assisting Virgo to achieve its ambitions for the future.
What we did….
Results prove that the starting point for exploring leadership should always be looking at oneself before looking at how to lead others, and we adopted a programme exploring ‘Leading Myself’, ‘Leading Others’ and ‘Leading Virgo’.
‘Leading Myself’ was about developing self-awareness and a deeper understanding of personal strengths, weaknesses and perceptions of others.
‘Leading Others’ focused on personal style and what it means to be a leader in order to understand other’s drivers and to motivate and direct them to achieve the best outcome in the most effective way.
The final stage of ‘Leading Virgo’ was concerned with pulling everything together with a deeper understanding of the relationship between behaviour and performance and business objectives and priorities.
The outcome………Since Zoom began the leadership programme there have been a number of significantly positive changes and confidence has increased dramatically with regards to the key objectives of the programme, including:
- Communication and interaction with clients.
- Effective delegation.
- Prioritising workloads.
- Developing capabilities to try different approaches.
- Understanding and embracing change.
- Giving and receiving feedback.
The programme has also lead to Zoom delivering personal development opportunities to the wider Virgo team and this has resulted in a durable, widespread understanding of and commitment to personal and professional development throughout the company.
